Screening that stands up to a regulator

We built FIRMCY for our own AML files first. Ioannou & Sharpe is a licensed Cyprus law firm — an obliged entity like the firms we act for — and the screening we needed had to survive a supervisor's questions, not just return matches.

What one screening does: it searches the UN, EU, OFAC and UK sanctions lists together with a worldwide PEP database; weighs every candidate match against date of birth and nationality, so a namesake with the wrong birth decade is flagged as implausible instead of consuming review time; handles Greek–Latin transliteration, so «Παμπορίδης» also matches Pamboridis; and writes the whole run — what was searched, which lists, what matched and why — into an audit-ready report with the evidence retained.

The lists behind it refresh daily and every change is published each morning on the daily sanctions-updates page. Delisted names are marked formerly listed, never deleted, so a screening file shows the whole arc of a designation.
